27th Anniversary of Visitations of the
Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe

June 14, 2018

Dear Friend of Our Lady of Guadalupe,
On June 14, we will celebrate the 27th anniversary of the first Visitation of the Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe to the International Rosary Congress at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. The Missionary Images are exact 4’ x 6’ digital replicas of the original miraculous image that Our Lady of Guadalupe left on St. Juan Diego’s tilma in Mexico. The Rector of the Basilica blessed them for conversions and reverence for life in the New Evangelization. We also have smaller images available for Visitations to your home or parish.

“Let the Little Children Come to Me”

Recently, I had lunch with Mary Lou Sokol from Pennsylvania. She is a former Guardian of the Missionary Image of Lady of Guadalupe. Mary Lou told me that before she hosted the Image, she went on pilgrimage to Medjugorje. Before she left, a mother asked her how she could pray to Our Lady for help. Mary Lou told her to write her a letter. “Write a letter to her? she responded. “How can I do that?”
Mary Lou said, “Just write a letter to her as if she were your own mother and tell her what you need.” So, the mother did that, without telling Mary Lou what the need was, put the letter in an envelope, sealed it, gave it to Mary Lou and asked her to take it with her on her pilgrimage to Medjugorje and present it as a petition to Our Lady.
So, Mary Lou brought the letter to Medjugorje, but forgot to bring it to a prayer meeting with one of the visionaries named Ivan. While she was at the prayer meeting, Ivan was very close to her. He suddenly asked, “Does anyone have any petitions for Our Lady?”
Mary Lou was sad and disappointed that she had forgotten to bring the mother’s petition.  However, someone, without being asked, suddenly gave her a piece of paper and a pencil. Mary Lou simply wrote on the paper as a petition to Our Lady, “Please answer the petition in the letter of the mother that I forgot to bring.” Then she gave the piece of paper to Ivan who presented it with the other petitions to Our Lady.
When Mary Lou returned to Pennsylvania, the mother called her. Mary Lou told her that she had presented her petition to Ivan, even though she had forgotten to bring the mother’s letter to him. Mary Lou told her, “I just asked Our Lady to grant the petition that you wrote in the letter.” The mother then asked Mary Lou to please come over to her house.
When Mary Lou arrived there, the mother and her husband met her and told her an amazing story. They told her that Jacob, their young son, had been diagnosed with leukemia with a tumor that would soon take his life. The mother said, “That’s why I wrote the letter to Our Lady and asked her to heal him.” Then the mother asked Mary Lou the date and the time when she gave the petition to Ivan. Mary Lou told her and it turned out to be the exact date and time in America at which her son was healed. The mother said that the doctor came out with the x-rays showing the tumor prior to the healing and the new x-rays showing the hole where the tumor had been. Then they took another set of x-rays with the same results and the doctor said, “There is no medical explanation for this, this is miraculous!”

When Mary Lou later hosted the Visitation of the Missionary Image, she hosted it at St. Malachi, Jacob’s school. She displayed the image in front of the principal’s office and stood with him while the children came to venerate it.
Mary Lou said, “When Jacob entered the school, he went without any hesitation right over to Our Lady of Guadalupe in her Missionary Image, said a prayer and then turned to us and said, ‘Mary healed me.’  He knew that Our Lady had interceded for his healing and without hesitation proclaimed that on his own. Through my years with children and teens I have learned to take the words of Jesus literally, "Let the little children come to me!"

It is only through your generous support that we continue our work to promote Visitations throughout the country so that more people become aware of the great works of God.
So, I ask you to please prayerfully consider giving the most generous amount you can todayIt is only together that we can build the Culture of Life and a Civilization of Love for which Saint John Paul II prayed.

We remember your intentions in our daily prayers and Novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe, our weekly holy hour before the Blessed Sacrament and in our special monthly Masses.

Your help has been invaluable to us. Thank you. May the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts of Jesus and Mary bless and watch over you and your loved ones.

In the Hearts of Jesus and Mary,
Dan Lynch
